We Demand The Freedom To Vote

For every Ohioan to have an equal say in the important decisions that impact our lives

Here in Ohio, we value our freedom. We value our fundamental freedoms to determine our future and to pick our leaders – not the other way around.

Yet in recent years, extreme, out-of-touch politicians have been trying to take away our freedoms because they don’t like the decisions we’ve made.

They don’t want us to exercise our freedom to vote, to decide whatever happens with our bodies, and to put issues that matter to our communities directly on the ballot. They want to rewrite the rules, so they can get what they want instead of what the people want. 

We see through their tricks. Joining together, we’re pulling for an Ohio where each and every single one of us can use our freedom to vote to deliver the wins we want for our communities.

Black, white, or brown, native or newcomer, we’re pulling for an Ohio where all Ohioans have an equal say in our democracy, no exceptions.

Policy Recommendations

• Defeat HJR1, an unpopular and unconstitutional bill that will take away Ohioans’ freedom to put issues that matter directly to their communities on the ballot

• Pass fair and representative maps in the state legislative and congressional redistricting process. 

• Protect Ohio voters from being purged from the rolls. 

• Protect Ohioans’ right to organize and protest legislation that hurts our families.  

• Ensure every Ohioan can exercise their freedom to vote by giving voters more options through automatic voter registration and same-day registration.

• Protect the voting rights of students, communities of color, and currently incarcerated Ohioans
