Voting on Election Day

Together, we can build an Ohio for all of us.

Regardless of what you look like or where you live, you make our democracy stronger when your vote is counted.

In-person voting at your neighborhood polling place on Election Day is one option. Don’t forget to wear a mask, keep your hands clean, and practice social distancing guidelines when casting your vote in-person. It’s on all of us to keep each other safe.

Where do I vote on Election Day?

On Election Day, you will cast your ballot in your precinct at your designated polling place between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. If you do not know where your designated polling location is is located, please click here to search for your polling place online or contact your county board of elections.

Will I need an ID to vote?

On Election Day, you will need to bring a form of valid voter ID to verify your identity before casting a ballot. Click here to find a list of what Ohio law considers to be acceptable voter identification.

Can I vote in-person if I already requested a ballot in the mail?

If you already requested your absentee ballot but later decide you would rather vote early, in-person, you can do that at your Board of Elections until November 2. Bring the absentee ballot you received in the mail with you when you early vote in-person, if possible, but you can cast a ballot either way. However, if you already requested an absentee and try to vote on Election Day, you can still vote but you will cast a provisional ballot. Call the voter protection hotline at (866)-OUR-VOTE if you run into any problems casting your ballot.
